Apple continues its “Shot on iPhone” campaign with “Selfies on iPhone X”, which is set to Muhammad Ali’s famous „I Am the Greatest“ speech from 1963.
Set to this speech and the live audience laughing in the background, we see the selfies of a diverse group of people go by on the screen, in a familiar minimalistic Apple style.
The humorous, deliberately egocentric speech by Ali seems a perfect fit for the selfie culture, but still gives the ad more of a relatable feel than a narcissistic one.
The spot was aired this weekend, and the Portrait Lighting selfies shown in it were shot with the iPhone X’s TrueDepth front-facing camera.
