There comes a time for everything, even for the refresh of our own look and the content of Media Marketing. We’ve been contemplating this for a long time but could never find room for it in our agendas. It was all hands on deck over the last two months, and the result of that work is before you today.
We have completely revamped the look of the portal and have changed quite a bit in the content section as well.
Interview of the week
We’ll have one big interview a week, and it will go out on Monday. These will be exclusive talks with people who have something to say. We start the series with Sanja Buterin, Marketing Director at Infobip. You know, it’s the tech company from Vodnjan (Istria, Croatia) that employs 1500 people in 61 offices around the globe, and whose services today reach up to 4.5 billion people around the planet! Their goal is to reach the entire world population with some of their services. Our goals are much more modest. We would like to reach most of the people employed in the communications industry of the Adriatic region. It seemed to us that Sanja and Infobip were good for our new start, we hope they will bring us luck.
Theme of the day
Each day we will have one question on a current topic that we will ask some people from the industry who are competent to answer it. What we are most interested in right now are the trends with advertising budgets. What will they be like in 2019? That’s why we dedicated our first “Theme of the day” to this topic.
Three questions for…
This will be a form of short interview – three questions that we will ask someone who is particularly interesting at a given moment. We aim to have this section three times a week.
The Young Leaders of Tomorrow
We are returning to Young Leaders in the communications industry. Each day, we will present one young leader who has been assessed by their agency or company as someone who will soon be able to assume responsibility for the development of the industry. These interviews will be done by Asja. I’ve read the first few texts. Great young people. I’m very excited about this section and can’t wait to get the first comments. The experience we had with the first series of these interviews from four years ago tells us that this will be one of the best projects so far.
Columns and the Diary
We will have two columns and three Diaries of a Methuselah per week.
As you can see, we’ve put focus on original content, because you have shown the greatest interest for them so far.
We will be very selective with the news – we will mostly publish only the most interesting and most current news.
Have we managed to offer you a better portal than what you have been reading so far? To be honest, I don’t know! We tried to do the best we could. Perhaps our new look is leaning too close to news portals, which we are not. I don’t know, we will leave that to your judgment. We will be grateful for every comment, suggestion, and especially criticism. Honest criticism is worth more than ten praises.
The only thing remaining is to thank all of my associates – Malik Hodžić, our young head of digital, who has invested all his efforts to make sure this succeeds. Also thanks to Adnan, Asja and Amela. All of them contributed with suggestions and ideas in our mission to offer you a modern concept of a portal.
When I was thinking about today’s Diary, I had a heap of ideas of how to make the text as good and interesting as possible. I wanted to be smart and funny and cool. I guess I didn’t manage to do any of that due to stage freight. I can’t remember the last time I waited for the start of a project with this much anticipation.
We have been offline for a couple of days, because the transfer of the entire content over the last eight years to a new server demanded a few days. And not just that. We had to make many adjustments. We needed to make everything look the way we wanted it. Hence the anticipation.
I’d love to see what the first release will look like, but a lot has not been done yet at the time of writing this, although there’s only twelve hours left until the launch. I’ll see it in the morning the same time as you. I envy you. You will sleep peacefully tonight, and I won’t be able to close my eyes with all the excitement. Not because I depend on the portal. Nothing depends on it for me. It’s not a condition for my existence, it’s something I do from pleasure. I wish we will succeed for the sake of Malik, Adnan, Asja and Amela. Media Marketing is their future.
