At the annual ceremony of Polaris Awards for successful political communication in London, the Zagreb-based public relations agency Manjgura received the Bronze Polaris for political communication, in the strong competition of election campaigns from all over the world. Manjgura won the award in the Overall Campaign category for their project “How Željko Burić became the first reelected Mayor in the history of Šibenik”. This was an election campaign for the Mayor of the City of Šibenik, realized in cooperation with client Željko Burić and HDZ Šibenik. The Polaris Award is awarded by the European Association of Political Consultants (EAPCs).
“The award of the European Association of Political Consultants is a great acknowledgment to Manjgura’s work, not only for its engagement in the award-winning project, but also for our twenty-year work and gained experience in the field of political communication. With this award we have rounded up a successful outcome of our work in all the election campaigns we were engaged in during the local elections in 2017, with particular emphasis on the role of the team of young communications experts, which also record successes in other projects and sectors of our business. Our young team was nominated in the category with experienced political consultants from around the world, so this recognition of Manjgura’s work will be a strong wind in their sails for all future ideas and engagements,” said Katarina Leko, director of Manjgura Public Relations Agency.
During the 2017 local elections campaign, Manjgura achieved success and achieved its goals with all its clients throughout Croatia. For this campaign, it is significant that apart from setting up a successful strategy, it also succeeded in making Željko Burić the first re-elected Mayor in the history of Šibenik.
“This recognition is proof that quality and innovative communication projects can be realized in Croatia as well. Manjgura has been consulting a number of political candidates throughout Croatia and the region over the years, and we are delighted that our work and strategic approach have been recognized by top experts in this business from around the world. We thank Mayorof Šibenik, Željko Burić, and his entire campaign team, who once again placed their trust in us, and enabled us to achieve this great electoral success together. The Polaris Award will certainly be a great motivation for us for further work and new challenges,” said communications adviser and head of the Manjgura’s team for political campaigns, Gordan Turković.
The evaluation of the submitted projects and the decision about winners was made by a jury composed of renowned international experts from the field of political counseling, digital marketing, public relations, media, and so on.
