Mercator Slovenia has shown its social responsibility and loyalty to community countless times. They encourage and support the development of small local producers, they support the development of local sports clubs, thus highlighting a healthy lifestyle, they participate in nature conservation projects, where, among other things, they also participate in cleaning the iceberg at the top of mount Triglav.
As all these “healthy” ideas come from the Mercator itself, it is also necessary to encourage, reward and develop internal talents, to which the company is also devoted. Mercator’s marketing team takes care of this. After all, they are the ones who create these ideas of social responsibility and support to the local community.
As part of this year’s successful Mercator campaign, I know good. I eat good. I am good. an internal competition was conducted in the company, for scholarships intended for musically talented kids of employees. Of the twenty-two children who applied, the committee selected four violinists and one cello player to receive a monthly scholarship for two years. The committee members were: Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser from 2Cellos duo, the famous Slovenian composer Aldo Kumar and CEO of Mercator Tomislav Čizmić.
The talents were first presented early November, at the Festival Hall in Ljubljana, at the traditional corporate event “It’s nice to be the best”, where Mercator officially announced employees who excelled in their work and earned one of the special titles: best internal mentor, best salesperson, best boss, best store, as well as winners of the Mercator prizes. The event included performances by composer Aldo Kumar, musician Blaž Demšar with scenes from the TV spot “We love BIO local”, vocal group Galina and Slovenian music band Balladero.
Mercator highlights they are very happy to have the chance to support and encourage young talents in their further education and the development of their talents.
