The UM Podgorica media agency has won the Golden Sempler at the 20th SEMPL Media Trends Festival in Portoroz, Slovenia. The international jury awarded Gold to the #Unwanted campaign, which was realized in cooperation with McCann Podgorica and with the support of McCann Beograd, in the category Innovative Use of the Communication Channel.
“On behalf of UM Podgorica, I would like to thank my colleagues from McCann Podgorica and McCann Beograd for the extraordinary cooperation, and to congratulate the Women’s Rights Center for realization of the #Unwanted project, and their persistent struggle to ensure better position for women in the Montenegrin society. This recognition first and foremost confirms the strength of full service approach to campaigns and the importance of synergy between creative and media agencies. An innovative approach to the choice of communication channels and engaging content are key factors for success in an era when the average attention span is reduced due to the amount of information available. Campaign #Unwanted is a great acknowledgment for the advertising industry in Montenegro as well, and I hope it will serve as a blueprint for the successful cause driven campaigns in the future,” said Ivan Čelebić, CEO of the UM Podgorica.
Sandra Vujović, Creative Lead of McCann Podgorica, added: “The award received is not only a recognition for innovation, expertise and creativity, but also a confirmation of great teamwork and excellent collaboration among agency teams. I am proud of the fact that we have managed to create and realize such a successful and quite emotional campaign that raised awareness of an important problem and influenced the changes in the Montenegrin society. #Unwanted is a proof that a good idea, with a noble cause, easily engages people and quickly finds its way to the hearts of its audience.”
