Spaces for consumption of food and drinks inside stores has long been a trend, and it’s a trend that brings an added value of retail space. In most cities, shoppers are accustomed to the fact that they can immediately eat what they bought, usually for breakfast and lunch.
bio&bio shops of ecological products thus lately, in all their new stores, include such a café, which the Zagreb agency Brigada planned in their new store concept during their rebranding.
At bio&bio stores – such as the one in Zagreb’s Oktogon or at the Super Konzum in Radnička – you can eat your healthy sandwich, cake, vegan delicacy from the eco farm Zrno, drink freshly made superfood smoothie or organically grown coffee.
Café is always at the entrance to the store, and opens to the street, thus attracting the attention of passers-by. As each segment of the store, such as a bakery or the beauty department, this one also has specific design. For example, dark wood is used that is somewhat coarsely finished, steel, subway tiles and down lighting, and Brigada is responsible for spatial and functional organization and design of the bar.
The project was worked on by creative director Damjan Geber, led by the architect Ena Tadej, while Dominik Cergna and Ana Herceg did the design.
