Statistics show that last weekend was probably our strongest weekend ever thanks to the fact that Imago won the first Cannes Lion for Croatia, and our good organization to cover it in the best possible way. We even got a few e-mails – from Serbia – praising our work. The news of the success of Imago was mostly read in Croatia, but it was also followed with great interest throughout the region, which proves that every major success, of any agency, is a profit for the entire industry in the entire region.
Summer began with fierce heat. Many have already fled to the sea side. Every mail I send, I receive a reply that they are at the beach. So be it, I myself will stick to the inland for a bit more.
I’m following the statistics of the portal and I see that Friday’s are becoming a little shaky as far as visits go. It’s normal I guess. People are eager to leave work earlier and start their weekend, and weekend content needs to be a little more relaxed. As of this Friday, we will introduce two novelties.
First, we are starting the section about your pets! There’s almost not a single person I know in the communications industry who doesn’t have a pet. Some of them have become regional stars, such as Miša Lukić’s Ogi. Next Friday we will premiere this section with Vanja and Davor Runje and their puppy. Next Friday we will get to know Miša’s Ogi a little bit better, then Lea Stanković will write us about her dogs and kittens. Anyway, there will be some very interesting texts. If you wish you can also contact us. Write a story about your pet, their traits and habits, send us photos and a video, share your joy with us.
Another novelty will be letters from vacation. Share with us your impressions and tastes (wine and food), write us about the books you read at the beach, whom you hang out with, recommend us a hotel, a restaurant … The first letter came from Greece, signed by Borislav Miljanović. If you are on vacation, or are about to go to some attractive destination, write to us.
I continue to work on the book The Best of CDs. I received a mail from Ana Ivandić, detailing the procedures to prepare the digital edition of the book. As Ana describes it, the digital edition will be much richer than the printed one, not only because it will have video and audio, it will also have links that will take readers to more designs than will be presented in the printed edition. I’m old school and I like to have a hard copy in hand. Print and digital are an ideal combination, so we continue to work on this project. The team is expanding with four new associates who are specialists in digital publishing.
I was very pleasantly surprised today with communication with Ms. Iva Balent, marketing director of Agrokor. I’m preparing a story for Friday about the campaign that won the bronze Lion in Cannes for Imago – from idea to victory. Of course this can’t go without a client. I have always maintained that the client is the first and most important jury. If they don’t accept the idea, it will never come before a festival jury. I sent a few questions to Ms. Balent asking her to send me the answers by tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon. Having learned from all previous experience with large companies in which answers are always prepared by PR folk, I did not expect to get them on time. Miraculously, responses were received in less than an hour, directly from Mrs. Balent. In between two meetings she sent great answers. That’s how it is when someone believes in what they do and knows how to do it well. Then you don’t have to hide behind PRs.
Thank you Ms. Balent!
