Christmas wheat is a cherished tradition in Croatia and this year the agency Degordian decided to share it with the world in a quite literal sense.
The hard-working staff has sown 195 bowls of wheat for 195 countries, and invited people around the world to become Wheat Whisperers. Below you can see what it looks like when you set off to sow 195 little pots of wheat inside an office space:
The premise behind the project is the theory that talking to plants helps them grow, so the agency created a dedicated website for visitors to come and leave the message to their country’s plant, encouraging the little thing to grow.
The website also live streams the messages left to the plants, so we naturally had to try it out and leave a message of our own.
It’s a bit disappointing that messages are read to the plants by a computerized voice, and there is no way of leaving an actual audio message of your own (but hey, the plants would probably prefer the computerized lady voice over my attempt at singing). Also, Degordians, are other plants listening to our messages to the plants we choose?
Anyway, thanks Degordian for the fun project, it was really refreshing seeing it in our e-mail today.
Merry Christmas and happy New Year Degordian, send our love to all the little plants.
