Everyone who has ever bought a toy or a gadget that requires batteries for Christmas will know what a nightmare it is when you don’t have the batteries at that very moment when the kids open up their presents. Duracall played with this exact idea in a fun holiday TV spot, and a clever window display in NYC to go with it.
The theme of both—created by Wieden + Kennedy New York—was the chaos that can ensue if you rely on the wrong batteries on Christmas morning. The window display was particularly inspired. Set on a spinning platform, it showed two possible scenarios for Christmas—a dreamy morning with Duracell batteries, and a nightmarish scene devolving into chaos without Duracell.

The 60-second film from W+K and Biscuit Filmworks went the same route, and imagined what would happen if Santa didn’t deliver Duracell batteries, with some scary consequences for the Santa Claus.
