TIKVEŠ AND IGOR ILIEVSKI DECLARED THE MOST SUCCESSFUL MANAGER AND THE MOST SUCCESSFUL COMPANY
Winery Tikveš and its General Manager Igor Ilievski are the winners of European awards for the best manager and the best company, awarded by the Independent Regional Office of Southeast and Central Europe of the European Association of Managers, and magazine Euromanager.
This award was awarded for the 34th time in Sarajevo and is on the list of the five most respected awards of its kind in the world, behind New York, Paris, London, Rome and Madrid. This year the competition included more than 2,000 managers and companies, and previous winners are business associations and chambers, as well as prominent individuals from the academia and business community who have received awards for concrete visible results of their work in public.
“This award belongs to you for your own achievements, and the excellent results of the company Tikveš which you successfully run,” it was said in the official statement of the jury of the European Association of Managers, sent to the Tikveš winery and Igor Ilievski.
“This is a confirmation that what we do in the winery Tikveš – we do properly. Each award is a huge commitment to be even better. We at Tikveš see new opportunities for further affirmation of collective and individual values in the region and beyond,” said Igor Ilievski, general manager of Tikveš on this occasion.
W&K CONVERTS WEBSITE INTO #BLACKLIVESMATTER MESSAGE
If you haven’t visited Wieden & Kennedy’s website lately, then you haven’t seen the powerful message the agency posted in the aftermath of two African-American men shot by police last week.
“Why your black co-worker seems especially bitter today …” the post begins. “We’re conflicted, in a place between crippling empathy contempt at a world that seems not to care enough.” The message is brief and links to the agency’s other work are not available. It concludes with: “Just an FYI, not for sympathy. Just acknowledging this because it should be acknowledged,” followed by the #blacklivesmatter hashtag.
Wieden & Kennedy did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the message.
People will likely compare it to Beyonce’s statement, called “Freedom,” which she posted on her website in the wake of the two killings. Although W&K’s message might be similar, it stands on its own, especially since many other agencies or marketers have remained silent.
FACEBOOK IS TESTING SECRET CONVERSATIONS FEATURE FOR SELF-DESTROYING MESSAGES
In a move taken straight from Mission: Impossible—or straight from Snapchat—Facebook has begun testing a way for Messenger users to send encrypted conversations that disappear after a certain period of time.
In a post on Facebook, David Marcus, Facebook’s head of Messenger, said the company has begun testing end-to-end encryption as a way to provide additional security and privacy to messages. He said certain Messenger features don’t yet work with end-to-end encryption, such as cross-device conversations, archived messages and GIFs.
Users can access the feature from within a normal Messenger conversation by tapping the name of the person they’re talking with and scrolling down to the “Secret Conversations” feature. A new window will open, and a person can choose the amount of time they want the message to be viewable once opened with options ranging from five seconds to more than six hours. After that, the user can send their message.
DISNEY REVEALS BANK OF 400 EMOJIS
Disney has unveiled some 400 themed emojis inspired by its films from across the decades, including Alice in Wonderland, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Lilo and Stitch.
Disney Games released a trailer on YouTube this week which shows that for users to collect the emojis they’ll first have to play a game called “Disney Emoji Blitz.”
“Collect and play with hundreds of Disney and Pixar emojis like never before in an exciting matching game! Play fast-paced rounds of match-3 to earn prizes, complete missions, and discover new emojis,” the film explains.
The Disney emoji will be released to iOS and Android.
