APPLE FINALY GETS GREEN LIGHT TO ACQUIRE SHAZAM

24 Hours: Creative Republic in Bihać; Focus in Terme Tuhelj; Poslovni Mediji best small agency for Content Marketing; Croatian Telekom raising broadband speeds… 1

The European Commission has approved Apple to purchase the Shazam song recognition app after a months-long investigation determined it does not endanger competition in the streaming market.

The investigation found that Apple music and Shazam offer complementary services and that they are not competition with each other.

The Commission stated that merger of Apple and Shazam would not endanger other service providers for streaming music.

Apple, which has the second largest streaming service in Europe after Spotify, announced last year that it intends to buy Shazam. It is speculated that Apple’s bid was $400 million.
