APPLE IS RETIRING THE ICONIC MUSIC PLAYERS
You can no longer order the iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle from the Apple website – only iPod Touch.
The company has confirmed that they are ceasing production of these models.
“We are streamlining the collection of players and are leaving only two models of iPod Touch in production,” said the company.
According to N1, they also added that it will help them focus on iPod Touch, the most popular iPod ever. The memory will therefore be increased from 16 GB to 32 GB, with unchanged price.
The Touch version thus lives on another day, but its days are also numbered, and when this model retires so will the iPod line.
The iPod Nano was released in 2005 and has since been redesigned seven times, all the way to the latest model, which irresistibly resembles a miniature iPhone.
STEVE JOBS’ WIDOW IS ENTERING MEDIA INDUSTRY
Laurene Powell Jobs, widow of the late Steve Jobs, has taken over The Atlantic magazine through her humanitarian organization. The takeover concerns only part of the Atlantic Media corporation, owned by David Bradley. This includes portals Quartz, National Journal and Government Executive.
“Against the odds, The Atlantic is prospering,” Bradley said in the memo. “While I will stay at the helm some years, the most consequential decision of my career now is behind me: Who next will take stewardship of this 160-year-old national treasure? To me, the answer, in the form of Laurene, feels incomparably right.”
Bradley bought The Atlantic in 1999 for $10 million from Mort Zuckerman, owner of the New York Daily News.
