Holiday season is approaching fast and the Christmas campaigns will steadily start to pour. The nation with some of the most colorful, shiny Christmas campaigns is certainly U.K., so it’s not surprising that one of the first of the season comes from Asda.
Campaign from Saatchi & Saatchi London, brings a Willy Wonka inspired tale of a kid and her grandfather sneaking into a factory where all sorts of magical things are being made. The stand-in for the Chocolate Factory is called the Imaginarium, and it’s where Asda is making all it special Christmas treats. Tagline of the campaign, and Asda’s wish for all its customers, is “Best. Christmas. Ever.”
“Although the campaign has a fantastical element to it, our stories are firmly rooted in what Asda has to offer shoppers this Christmas, from old favorites to inventive new treats like gin infused chocolates and massive Christmas puddings,” said Sara Rose, group creative director at Saatchi. “Our first thought was ‘How do they come up with these things?’ And the campaign just grew from there.”
The campaign will run across digital channels, as well as on TV, cinema, radio, print, digital OOH, and social. The campaign was directed by Los Pérez at Blink, and company MPC was in charge of the special effects.
