The Ministry of Justice of Serbia has launched an internet campaign “Turn off the violence” (#iskljucinasilje), to raise awareness about domestic violence and to present the new legal measures to combat domestic violence.
According to statistics, in the last 10 years 314 women were killed in Serbia in acts of domestic violence, while since the beginning of 2016 more than 16 women were killed, indicating the necessity of engaging all resources in the fight against domestic violence.
The Ministry of Justice thus launched an internet campaign “Turn off the violence” in light of the new set of measures to combat this phenomenon, part of which is the Law on Prevention of Domestic Violence, with a clear message that domestic violence will not be tolerated.
The campaign aims to use internet channels, social networks and media to raise awareness of all stakeholders in society about domestic violence, to inform and educate different target groups and to present the new legal measures.
Also, one of the main priorities of the campaign is a call to action for all those who are directly or indirectly associated with any form of domestic violence. #iskljucinasilje
