Experiential agency Grandesign has prepared a colossal PR stunt for this week’s premiere of Kong: Skull Island. Throughout the week, the agency has been doing executions all over Los Angeles, simulating a destructive rampage of the famous ape.
The first execution appeared last Friday on Dockweiler Beach in the form of enormous footprints measuring 7.5 meters by 3.5 meters across.
From the beach, Kong „went“ further into the city and on Sunday came to Capitol Recors where it left a trail of destruction in the form of crashed cars.
On Monday, the agency used 3-D vinyl and chalk to illustrate a scene of Kong’s prints in Microsoft Square at LA Live.
On Tuesday, Kong visited the iconic Holywood sign, where it left some footprints similar to those on the beach, probably wanting to soak in the scenery.
On Wednesday, Kong came to the Hollywood Walk of Fame outside the Dolby Theatre where the premiere was held.
“His final stop!” said Jasen Smith, experience creator at Grandesign, in a statement for AdFreak. „He finally made it to the premiere and crushed his own star on the famous Walk of Fame.“
