Humanitarian action Step in Life will mark its grand finale on 4 November 2016 in the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, with a concert of legends – legends of classics and legendary pop rockers, the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and band Prljavo Kazalište. Joining them on stage for this big event will be the academic choir Ivan Goran Kovačić. Iconic hits of the legendary band will thus be performed in unusual arrangements, all with one goal – to help raise funds for scholarships for young people without adequate parental care.
The concert is traditionally held in memory of the late maestro Vjekoslav Šutej, friend of this action since its beginning, and members of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra who had the opportunity to work with the maestro are especially proud that they have been part of this great humanitarian story since its beginning.
“Music is a cure for everything. It brings a lot of joy, and this concert is just one more confirmation of that. We are proud to be a part of this great humanitarian story and that with the concert in the National Theatre, and cooperation with the Zagreb Philharmonic, we will be able to present our repertoire in a slightly different way. Not only will we give our best to make this evening better for everyone, our goal is to raise funds to help these wonderful young people and provide them with the opportunity for a new step in life,” said Mladen Bodalec, singer of Prljavo Kazalište.
Humanitarian action Step in Life was launched by the Rotary Club Zagreb Kaptol in 2008, and since then every year it provides scholarships for young people who after high school have to leave the children’s homes and foster families, and who have the desire to continue their education, but don’t have the means to do so.
“For eight years now we’ve been helping children without proper care from children’s homes and foster families, and we look forward to the double-digit anniversary that awaits us next year. After year-round activities, the concert of the Zagreb Philharmonic and Prljavo Kazalište is the pinnacle of our actions in which this year we will provide funds for scholarships to a new generation of students, and I hereby thank partners of the action for their tireless support,” said the president of the Rotary Club Zagreb Kaptol Darko Radišić.
Apart from the sale of concert tickets, funds for a new generation of students are collected via the humanitarian phone number 060 9001, and direct payments to the account 2360000-1102052855.
