The 7th Plaktivat contest is open for entries – a socially responsible project for the creation of urban posters by which the company TAM-TAM encourages positive thinking and progress in society. This time Plaktivat will place in front of the mirror the (irresponsible) consumer society, and in the center of it all they place responsible consumption and alternative ways of procurement. Excessive consumerism has become our lifestyle, and material goods our status symbol. Rarely do we wonder where and how things are produced, and usually we buy unethically and without thinking. We have become an atomized society where shopping doesn’t require interaction with people with whom we live, and the acquisition of an individual is independent of the community in which they live.
The campaign is aimed at reflecting on excessive consumerism, especially during the holiday season, and encourages the use of alternative forms of procurement of goods. Plaktivat focuses on current issues of contemporary society that directly co-create the environment in which we live. It’s a fusion of good socially responsible ideas, creative surpluses and public media. With the TAM-TAM competition, Plaktivat encourages positive changes in people’s heads and at the same time points to a particular context, efficiency and social role and responsibility that a city poster can take as an extremely widespread and at the same time the oldest media format with great influence on public opinion.
Plaktivat this time calls for cross-border cooperation, calling authors from the former republics of the former common state of Yugoslavia to send their proposals. The winning city poster will be printed and published in 500 poster locations of the company TAM-TAM throughout Slovenia. It will also be entered in the competitions of the Slovenian Advertising Festival (SOF) and the Biennale of Visual Messaging Slovenia, and will receive the Plaktivat’s MEGAFON and a plaque.
Deadline for entries is Thursday, 24 November 2016, and more information on the project and the conditions of participation are available at this link.
