Ikea Canada has launched a holiday spot that revolves around magic, and reusing Ikea products, giving them new purpose in life. All this is told in the familiar Christmas spirit, and the context of a heartwarming family story.
The spot dubbed “Magic Man” follows a small boy trying to entertain his large family with some magic, but all the tricks seem to fall short, until his grandpa finds a solution in an old shelving unit which is given a new life, with some magic.

Much like the last brand spot from Ikea, the Lamp 2, once again the story revolves around prolonging the life of an Ikea product. Given that holiday season is probably the most taxing for the family budgets, such message of meaningful reuse is quite welcome in our opinion, although a bit unexpected from a retailer.
Still, it follows Ikea’s commitment to become a fully circular business by 203. According to this strategy, Ikea intends to design products with re-use, repurposing and recycling in mind from the very beginning, using only renewable, recycled, and recyclable materials, eliminating waste and connecting with its customers in new ways to give products a longer life.
