“Himna generacije” (Generation’s Anthem) is the first single from the new album that will see the light of day at the end of this year.
“After we’ve been groundlessly accused of presenting ‘the legitimate voice of a lost generation’ for years, we decided to finally misuse this label and make a music track appropriate to the subject. In this region, the favorite sports disciplines – stress marathon – has been brought to perfection and this region has given a number of world champion in the super-heavyweight category of this discipline. We stress out non-selectively, continuously, and when we stress out we don’t discriminate topics on basis of importance and potential impact on our own lives. We stress about everything – from endangered prairie opossums of South America, to a possible thermonuclear war on the Korean peninsula, the election of Trump for President of the United States, all the way to the competition for the biggest singing talent of the local community Zabrđe. If some less important human obsessions such as love of women or alcohol have been celebrated in countless songs, then the love of stress deserves at least one,” Dubioza Kolektiv said regarding the new track.
The video for the song “Generation’s Anthem” was filmed in Sarajevo, with participation of 400 extras-volunteers, who responded to the call of the band on social networks. This was one of the biggest filming projects in the area of Sarajevo Canton since the epic scene from the movie “Valter defends Sarajevo”. For the purposes of recording, town’s main road was blocked at several locations, which naturally caused additional stress for drivers who were affected by the suspension of traffic.
Currently, the band, extras and crew who filmed the spot, are all stressing out over whether the viewers will like the spot, and how many views will it have on YouTube.
In the breaks between stressing out sessions, Dubioza Kolektiv continues with concerts, so the domestic audience can catch them at one of the concerts that are scheduled this summer in the region, or on 17 November at a big concert in Zagreb’s Dom Sportova.
