Slovenian and Croatian divers are in preparations for the great cleaning of the Savudrija Bay, with the support of Electrolux.
Scuba divers traditionally clean the sea floor there in the early June, and this year’s action will be named Clean-up Without Borders, and part of the action is the eponymous campaign which the Electrolux launched this year on the Croatian and Slovenian markets.
The company encourages citizens to preserve the environment and will divert part of the proceeds from the sale of their vacuum cleaners to this sea floor cleaning action.
Every year, divers in Savudrija Bay collect between ten and twenty cubic meters of waste, among other things, plastics, roofing tiles, and old household appliances.
The culmination of the campaign will be on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at the end of the week that marks the World Environment Day.
The great clean-up action will include around 100 divers, some of whom will clear the sea floor in front of Piran and the others will clean on the other side of the bay.
“Electrolux is a global corporation that cares for human, environmental and limited energy resources. That’s why every new generation of devices is aligned with sustainable development and nature protection,” said Anamarija Rogić, Marketing Director for Small Household Appliances at Electrolux.
