The Slovenian Advertising Festival (SOF) will be held on 12 and 13 April 2018, and the theme “Let’s celebrate creativity, let’s celebrate work!” will place the focus on the contribution of the advertising industry as a whole. Slovenia’s central national advertising and marketing event once again calls professionals to come to the Kempinski Palace Hotel in the heart of Portoroz, and listen to numerous domestic and international speakers. Entries for the festival are open as of today, and the deadline is 26 February 2018. Entries will be evaluated by an expert jury led by Mitja Petrovič.
President of this year’s SOF, Karmen Škoda Piško, points out that SOF has been challenging the boldest, encouraging the shy and reflecting reality for decades now. With its competition program, it celebrates and promotes the ideas, stories and messages of the ads and solutions that present the finest selection of Slovenian creative spices. “SOF always grows. Again and again it wraps up and delivers new trends and new approaches, thus always facilitating the development of the marketing communication. So then … let’s celebrate creativity, let’s celebrate work!” said Karmen Škoda Piško.
Let the games begin
Entries are open as of today. Applicants have 13 categories to choose from – 12 regular and one special category. This year once again brings several changes in the competition program.
The group that has so far been intended for radio ads and communication has been extended to the area of audio communication. Within its categories, applicants can enter ads, marketing and communication projects, stand-alone content, and sound-related events – ie. ones that are based on sound.
The Design group now has simplified competition categories. Applicants can now enter their best works in three categories: Graphic Design, Industrial Design and Digital Design.
Year 2018 brings new criteria for the Agency and Brand of the Year awards. The year will now be “synchronized” with the calendar year in which the award is presented, and therefore the 27th SOF will present 2018 Agency of the Year and 2018 Brand of the Year awards.
Entries will be judged by a nine-member jury
President of the jury at 27th SOF Mitja Petrovič, an independent consultant in the field of market communications, will lead the group of eight members in deciding which works deserve the prestigious SOF awards.
