DELOITTE OPENS CLUBS FOR THE FIRST AMONG THE BEST
Deloitte Private Clubs, whose purpose is networking of private entrepreneurs, exchange of ideas and experiences and learning about the best ways of doing business that can significantly contribute to the development and prosperity of the societies in which they work, officially opened in Croatia and Slovenia.
Guests could follow simultaneous, parallel establishments and ceremonial openings of Deloitte Private Clubs in Croatia and Slovenia via video link, and both events enjoyed the support of the embassies.
Star of the night on both sides of the was the special guest, Emil Tedeschi, who endorsed Deloitte’s idea of informal gathering of not only owners of private businesses, but also people who work in the companies. Tedeschi heated the atmosphere on both sides of the border with an enthusiastic speech about privatization and the resistance that it provokes.
“Our business elite is not educated enough, is not wide enough either for learning, or talk, and as long as we don’t work on our own quality, we will not get the respect of society. In the Croatian society today there is no individual or organization in the spectrum of entrepreneurship, politics, religion, academia, media, which have even a minimum of respect for the citizens. As part of the business elite – we are to blame ourselves. For this we cannot blame politics or trade unions, but ourselves. On the other hand, when anyone in the society lashes out against private enterprise, by default, because we who are creating new value are, by definition, thieves, hustlers, criminals, speculators .., someone who is given something – then we have to raise our voice. Every time we look down, entrepreneurship in our country and the wider region goes backwards. That’s why I call you, first of all, invest in knowledge, invest in learning from those better than us, let’s complete our teams, let’s be aware that companies like Deloitte offer knowledge, and that knowledge is paid,” said Tedeschi.

LIA ANNOUNCES EMAD TAHTOUH AS 2016 THE NEW JURY PRESIDENT
Emad Tahtouh, Director of Applied Technology at FINCH, will be Jury President of The NEW at London International Awards (LIA) 2016.
Speaking on The NEW and the characteristics of its entries, Emad says: “The NEW category at LIA is such a wonderfully challenging and exciting experience. By very definition, the work must be considered unique or special in some way. However these are not easily identifiable or agreeable by consensus.”
Regarding the opportunity to chair the Jury, he adds: “Whilst a lot of other categories have clear metrics and years of previous work by which to measure and compare, The NEW does not have that luxury. For me, that’s the most exciting aspect to the medium. For the jury, watching, experiencing, discussing and awarding work which we consider to be groundbreaking or revolutionary, will result in the most thought-provoking and exhilarating conversations we will have all year.”
As FINCH’s Director of Applied Technology, Emad develops and curates technology solutions in both practical and creative capacities. The Most Powerful Arm, a project Emad personally oversaw, was the first piece of Innovation to win a coveted D&AD Blank Pencil, amongst other prestigious awards. Emad has judged at LIA, Cannes and AWARD, and has also been a presenter at Cannes, Spikes, SXSW, LIA, Semi Permanent and SAWA.
