In today’s fast-paced times, where information goes around the entire globe in a matter of seconds, it’s difficult to find some free time. In addition, in the creative industries dominate women who are usually strapped for free time. Our interviewee today always found spare time and has been engaged in a beautiful sport her whole life – fencing. Today we talk with Aleksandra Jevremović, member of the account team at Belgrade agency DNA Communications.
Media Marketing: What are the main reasons why you are engaged in this profession?
Aleksandra Jevremović: First and foremost because it’s dynamic and creative. Every day brings something new – a new challenge and a new solutions, and the possibilities are endless.
Media Marketing: Is there something you use daily to raise your motivation and the spirits of your colleagues?
Aleksandra Jevremović: Smile and optimism are the best motivators. I love the work I do. It fulfills me and makes me happy, so every day I try to transfer my enthusiasm and positive energy to my colleagues, because I believe that in this way I am giving them the strength and alleviating the everyday life with accounts, even in times of short deadlines and stressful situations.
Media Marketing: What is the most important thing in an account?
Aleksandra Jevremović: I believe that education is important in this industry, but also that it’s just one of the key elements that you must have to be good at your job. You need to follow the market and trends, which change from day to day, and thus be up to date with key changes and challenges that lie ahead. Continuous education and learning every day, exchange of experiences and knowledge with colleagues, these are very important elements in the philosophy of DNA Communications. This is something that every day makes us better in what we do.
In addition to education, I think the most important thing in this business is experience. There are myriad everyday situations that we’ve heard of or read about in scientific literature, but until we find ourselves in such situations we can’t know which pattern of behavior to apply. And of course, the love for the work you do is indispensable.
Media Marketing: You started working during your studies. How did you manage to balance your study responsibilities with a responsible job and fencing at the same time?
Aleksandra Jevremović: Near the end of my studies I realized I need to gain experience through practice. I mostly volunteered or worked part-time jobs. Employers and colleagues supported me due to my duties at the university. Also, while I was at the university, I mostly helped the Fencing Federation of Serbia with the organization of competitions, and with good cooperation with other team members every job was well done.
Media Marketing: How do you manage to harmonize your business duties with the great passion for fencing?
Aleksandra Jevremović: It is not difficult to juggle time when you are doing what you love. I’ve been engaged in fencing for almost 20 years and I knew that I would not be able to be fully dedicated to training and competitions when I get seriously focused on the development of my career, but I will certainly stay in the sport and will rearrange my tasks and time. Today, in addition to work in the DNA Communications, I also work as a coach for youth teams, and I fence, for my soul.
Media Marketing: You are with the DNA Communications agency for two years now. Are you satisfied with what you’ve achieved?
Aleksandra Jevremović: I think the best indicator of satisfaction with working at the DNA Communications is the fact that each morning I go to work with a smile on my face, and look forward to each new working day. I have the good fortune to work with a team of people who have a lot of experience and knowledge, both in what we do and in other spheres of life, and I learn from them a lot. When I turn around and remember my first day at the agency, I see that step by step I’ve progressed and learned a lot through different situations. Best of all is that this progress continues.
