In the first half of this year mobile advertising in the US recorded an 89% growth year-over-year, and represents almost half of all Internet advertising revenue.
Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) in their report stated that digital advertising in the United States, in the first half of this year, was record breaking. Its value was estimated at $32.7bn, which is 19% more than the same period last year when the value of digital advertising amounted to $27.5bn.
Other interesting information from the report include:
- Mobile advertising revenue grew by 89%, reaching $15.5bn, which represents 47% of the total internet advertising revenue.
- Advertising on smartphones and tablets increased its value to $1.6bn, which is 178% more than in the same period last year.
- Digital advertising, including mobile and desktop advertising, reached the value of $3.9bn, which is about 51% more than in the same period last year.
- Revenue from advertising on social networks grew to $7bn, which is 57% more than in the same period last year.
