Time of change

The annual conference of the Croatian Public Relations Association (HUOJ), titled Vrijeme PRomjena (Time of Change), will be held 19-21 May, 2016

Like other professional services, public relations are faced with rapid changes in the environment, from raising standards within the profession and the building of the target reputation among the target audiences, to changes in the EU market, which demand new knowledge and new adjustments from all stakeholders.

Some of the speakers who will be guests of HUOJ this year are:

  • Boris Beker, Director and co-founder of the PR agency Chapter4, lecturer at the University of Vienna’s Institute of Journalism and Communication,
  • Prof. Peggy Simčić Bronn, Professor at the Department of Communication and Culture, BI Norwegian Business School,
  • Željko Jozić, PhD, Director of the Institute for Croatian Language and Linguistics, associate for language and speech at Croatian Television (HRT),
  • Béla Dajka, head of corporate communications at the European Commission’s Directorate-General of Communication. Member of the European Association of Communication Directors (EACD),
  • Philip Young, senior lecturer in public relations at the University of Birmingham, UK. Former leader of the multi-disciplinary team at the University of Lund, Sweden, on the three-year project NEMO: New Media and Modern Democracy.

As every year, the program will include panel discussions that will address the limits of freedom of public speech, ways of communicating European culture, the operations of PR agencies in the region and other topics of interest for the industry.

As in previous years, there will be workshops that deal with practical knowledge about new technologies and media, copywriting, ethics in public relations, creating quality online campaigns on social networks, professional lobbying and other topics.

Registration fees:

  • Members of HUOJ: 1,499.00 HRK (€200) + VAT
  • Members of HURA: 1,699.00 HRK (€227) + VAT
  • Others: 1,899.00 HRK (€254) + VAT
  • Students: 199.00 HRK (€27) + VAT

The registration fee includes lunch for 2 conference days.
