Office 365 has already proved to be an unavoidable tool in team work, but knowledge of the entire Office package remains a key item in any CV, whether you’re a solo player or part of a team. Without Word, Excel, PowerPoint, office tasks would be far more difficult, and regular upgrade versions in the cloud make sure that we always have something new to learn – both users from the Office, and Office from them, writes BizIT.
New tools for design, research and checks
Word now comes with several new features. You can add reliable sources to your documents with the help of Researcher – useful assistant for research that enables easier finding and inserting of content related to the topic you are addressing directly from Word. It is also possible to insert related material in the document with a single click, and the Researcher automatically adds correctly formatted citations and references in order to more easily create high-quality initial sketch in fewer steps. There is also the Editor, a built-in digital consultant for writing with which you will easily convey your ideas based on the intelligent guidance and suggestions for improving writing style, whose number increases with time. Find the feature you need in a matter of seconds – just type in what you want to do in the smart search and directly access the command that you are looking for. Also, quickly find out the context of a concept using smart search and along with the feature also search help topics for features and commands. Excel in turn got involved in forecasting. A single click allows you to visually predict trends based on history and seasonality, and there are also new charts that display complex data in an innovative way.
Sway – PowerPoint’s cool younger brother
With the new application available, preparing presentations is no longer difficult nor boring, and the end result is likely to interest even that colleague who goes to sleep in the chair as soon as you open PowerPoint. Sway is more intuitive version of Microsoft’s most popular software for presentations, but also much more than that. With the increased interactivity, presentation can now include literally everything a website can, and at that it will look better than most of them. Now you can add a poll and track responses of all involved, put two similar photos and by moving the scroller users can watch one, the other or both of them on the display (something like “find the difference”) … Instead of the copy / paste method, tweets can now be directly embedded within the presentation, so users can effortlessly follow the author by clicking “follow” next to his name. Videos and gifs can become a regular part of any presentation, and on each photo you can select the most important part, which always remains visible and in focus even when changing the format. All content is automatically optimized for mobile devices, so you can immediately see your end result on all platforms. When you are ready to share it, just send everyone a link so they can follow your story on their own devices, even if you are not in the same room. Or even country for that matter.
