Participants at this year’s Days of Communication – Croatia’s main advertising festival, organized by HURA and IAB, which will take place 14 to 17 April 2016 in Hotel Lone, Rovinj – can expect lectures by world-renowned experts in branding and advertising. Some of the well known influential names in the industry who are coming to this year’s Days of Communication are: Lisa Larsson, Head of the Communications Unit at the Swedish Institute, a government agency associated with the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Kris Hoet, co-founder and Head of Innovation at the creative agency Happiness; and Ramses Dingenouts, one of the leading designers at Heineken.
Lisa Larsson is an experienced communications specialist with a track record of developing and implementing communication strategies and projects as part of the national branding of Sweden, such as ShareWear, Democreativity, Children Make and the project Study in Sweden launched in China. The Communications Unit, which Lisa manages, is responsible for the branding of Sweden and all official digital and printed communications, including the globally recognized and award-winning project Curators of Sweden, the official Twitter account of the Swedish state. As part of the country’s branding, Sweden became the first country in the world to enable its citizens to communicate via its official Twitter profile. The project has won more than two dozen national and international awards including golds at the Effie and Cannes Lions festivals. At this year’s Days of Communications, she will give a lecture on Nation Branding – From Strategy to Execution. This lecture will provide insight into how the Swedish strategy was developed, what the Swedish Institute is doing now to create relevant and authentic communications and content that builds trust, what the branding of Sweden looks like in practice and the achieved results.
Kris Hoet, co-founder and Head of Innovation at the agency Happiness, located in Brussels, is better known as the former director of the digital department of the well-known Belgian creative agency Duval Guillaume, which, during his five years at the agency, was three times awarded the title of Digital Agency of the Year, four times winner of the Agency of the Year awards and voted the best media agency in 2012 in Cannes. Before joining the agency sector, he worked as Head of Digital of the European cinematographic chain Kinepolis, and later as marketing manager for MSN / Windows Live in the EMEA region.
At Days of Communication he will give a lecture on Ideas from Anywhere, putting emphasis on the importance of creativity, given that the conditions and the way we build ideas, and the people with whom they are being developed, have dramatically changed.
Ramses Dingenouts is one of the lead designers at Heineken – a global beer brand with roots and headquarters in Amsterdam. Before joining the Heineken team in 2014, he worked in various creative agencies as a creative director. He is responsible for the design of award winning innovative concepts of packaging for premium brands, including Heineken. Among other things, he was part of the team that developed the new iconic Heineken family packaging at the end of the last decade. At that time, he used to explain the key contribution to the no-label appearance that melds into the shape of the bottle and gives unobstructed view of the product with the phrase “What you see is what you get”. At Days of Communication he will lecture on Innovation Without Changing the Product, with an emphasis on design and the importance of design for the company Heineken.
