ADFEST will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2017, with a bitter sweet farewell to the crystal globe that has been the symbol of the festival for the past 2 decades.
ADFEST has thus issued a call for submissions for the new trophy design for these prestigious awards of the advertising industry in Asia. The call is open to anyone, anywhere, and the maker of the winning design will be provided with accommodation and pass to the ADFEST 2017, where they will present their creation on stage.
At the heart of ADFEST, is the Lotus Award, celebrating creative excellence in the region. It is testament to groundbreaking work that raise creative standard, push boundaries, and inspire people. The Lotus flower is not only the logo or award name for ADFEST, but its symbolism represents the roots of ADFEST. The Lotus is prevalent with its roots running deep in the Asian culture, whether as part of native botanic, religious ceremony, daily life, or art. It is inherent to the Asian heritage and culture.
All this should be embodied in the design of awards, among which are: Grande (the equivalent to the Best of Lotus or Grand Prix); Integrated Lotus/INNOVA Lotus/Lotus Roots/Effective Lotus/Branded Content & Entertainment; and the Gold, Silver and Bronze Lotus.
Traditionally, ADFEST has been presenting certificates to the winners of Special Awards, but with the new trophy design ADFEST has decided to introduce trophies for these awards as well, and these will include: Network of the Year, Agency of the Year, Independent Agency of the Year, Interactive Agency of the Year, Direct & Promo Agency of the Year, Production Company of the Year and Advertiser of the Year.
All who are interested can send their designs free of charge without limit on submissions per person, with a couple of instructions to bear in mind. The trophy’s dimensions (including the base) should not exceed 10 cm (l) x 10 cm (w) x 30 cm (h). Designs can be drawings, digital designs, photographs, mock-ups or 3d models. The trophy must include the ADFEST logo, and the designer must take into account the trophy materials to be used (durability, weight, ease & timing of production, size & shape, etc.)
Deadline for the submissions is 30 April 2016. More details about the contest and the festival itself can be found at this link.
