SEMPL STARTS IN TWO DAYS, YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO GET TO PORTOROŽ!
Close to 1000 people from region’s communication industries will gather in two days in Portorož (Slovenia), who are interested to learn about new media trends at the SEMPL conference.
The organizers, Media Pool and Marketing Magazin, are receiving most queries regarding Dorie Clark – a very respectable political commentator from the USA, who led communications for the presidential campaign of Howard Dean in 2004 and now commented Trump vs. Clinton on some of the most respected US TV stations. Along Dori, participants are also interested for Kindra Hall – artist of storytelling, and, of course, for Shed Simov – a man of crazy ideas.
There will be many more good and interesting things in Portorož, especially at the Sempler Awards ceremony.
If you want to conclude this year on the best possible note, in the company of thousands of people from the media, agencies and marketing departments of advertisers, then the SEMPL event is where you need to be. It’s still not too late :)v

NUMBER OF JURY MEMBERS IN CANNES LIONS TO BE REDUCED
Jose Papa, CEO of Lions Festivals, which organizes the International Festival of Creativity Cannes Lions, told reporters that the integrity of Cannes Lions depends on the people who evaluate the submitted papers. “After extensive consultations with members of the jury of previous festivals, as well as with the industry in general, we have decided to reduce the number of jury members in order to have enough time for quality assessment work.”
John Hegarty, president of the jury of the competition category for titanium campaigns and co-founder of the advertising agency BBH, welcomed this change and said that he himself favors less numerous juries whose members are competent, more focused and more accountable. “Collective responsibility and the quality of discussion are lost if you have too many judges. Size is no guarantee of strength,” said Hegarty.
