PPP [BEER AFTER PROGRAM]: ROLE MODELS – KILLERS OF CREATIVITY

The creative industry has the opportunity to participate in another edition of the successful HURA’S format, the PPP [Piva Poslije Programa – Beer After Program], this time as part of Design Week, which takes place at various locations in Zagreb, May 3 to 5.

At the largest Croatian event dedicated to design, there will be talk over beer about role models in the creative industry. Along with Croatian creative professionals and designers, PPP titled Role models – Killers of creativity, will be hosted by Igor Mladinović, creative director at Imago advertising agency.

All interested parties are invited to an open discussion on several key questions: Is the role of a creative to get a job in the ‘creative industries’ or is their role to make any industry in which they find themself creative? What is the difference between a role model and inspiration? And finally, is our creativity authentic and are we aware that every step closer to the role model is a step away from creativity?

Beer waits you on 5 May at 18:00 hours in Hauba (next to Lauba). For the purpose of interactivity, the number of participants will be limited, so the first to get there takes the prize!

For more information, visit www.hura.hr.

EXHIBITION BY DEJAN KRŠIĆ OPENED AT CETINJE AS PART OF FLUID DESIGN FORUM

Last night (Wednesday, 27 April 2016) at Atelier Dado of the National Museum of Montenegro, an exhibition Dejan Kršić: What, How and for Whom & So On – Design for Contemporary Art was opened. The exhibition takes place as part of the Fluid Design Forum, organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts Cetinje, and runs until 17 May. Apart from Dejan Kršić, guest at Fluid is also the curator of his exhibition Marko Golub, who will hold a presentation titled Introduction to design archive, and there will also be a presentation of the book Critical Cartography of the same author.

The main theme and slogan of this year’s Fluid is Made by me, and exhibitions, discursive program and workshops are held in three cities – Nikšić, Bar and Cetinje. Much of the program is dedicated to the design heritage, such as retrospective Giants of graphic design – Saveta and Slobodan Mašić, curated by Borut Vild and Ljudmila Stratimirović, or group exhibition History Made by Me, which brings together a range of contemporary graphic designers whose work reinterprets or gives homage to the works of their predecessors.

Panel Made by Me follows the same tracks, and will be held in the Montenegrin art gallery on 27 April, starting at 11h. Keynote address at the panel will be given by head of the HDD gallery Marko Golub, with the theme Introduction to design archive, which directly refers to the exhibition Design Archive held as part of last year’s Dan D (D Day).
