MAJA DUJLOVIĆ NEW MEMBER OF THE ABRAKADABRA TEAM
One of the leading regional agencies for public relations, Abrakadabra, is richer by another member of their team. The department for organization of events has been joined by Maja Dujlović, at the position of event executive. Before this post she gained professional experience in design and implementation of events, public relations, marketing and social media at the agency Projektil, where she worked with clients such as Google, Nike and Mars.
She is a member of the project team of the Croatian Society of Independent Professionals and Coworking Croatia program, as well as member of the Rotaract Club Zagreb Center, where she was a president for one year. She is a triple winner of the student competitions in the development of marketing campaigns.
FORMER MI5 AGENT TO SPEAK AT SPARK.ME CONFERENCE
Annie Machon, a former agent of the British counter-intelligence and security agency MI5 has confirmed her arrival at the marketing conference Spark.me.
Machon left MI5 in 1996, to assist in uncovering the criminal acts and incompetence of the British intelligence services. Today she is known as a writer, analyst, international speaker and expert in the areas of security, privacy, freedom of the press and media, combating terrorism, the war on drugs and as a PR consultant. A unique insight into the functioning of state governments, intelligence agencies and the media made it possible for her to perceive the importance and the need for increased transparency and accountability, both in public and private sectors. For this reason, Mason is active in a number of professional organizations that are trying to reach a high level of transparency and accountability. Mason is the European head of the international non-profit organization LEAP (Law Enforcement Against Prohibition), which brings together former and current police officers and agents who are opposed to the current policy of the war against drugs and aimed at its suppression. Also, she is one of the leaders of the global initiative for the reform of the security organizations, Code Red.

53 YEARS AGO DAVID BOWIE WORKED AT AN ADVERTISING AGENCY AS JUNIOR VISUALISER
Music, fashion, the entire society, have lost another great man. Music icon David Bowie died on Sunday evening at the age of 69, after 18 months of struggle with cancer. Many brands and fashion labels on their social channels paid tribute to Bowie, who has left an indelible mark not only in the world of music, but also in the world of fashion.
It is well known that Bowie appeared in advertisements and campaigns, but it’s a little known fact that early in his career he tried himself in the advertising industry. Prior to his transformation into David Bowie, young David Jones in 1963 got a job at Nevin D Hirst Advertising in London, as a junior visualiser / paste-up artist, and his job was to draw sketches and pitch ideas to his superiors. According to Bowie, he loathed the experience, because it was restricting his creative abilities. However, this field trip in the world of advertising likely had some influence on his career, and especially the talent for self-promotion.
GOLDEN GLOBES GARNERS 1.4 MILLION TWEETS
The Golden Globe Awards, which were held on Sunday, collected 1.4 million tweets, according to Amobee Brand Intelligence, and the most tweeted celebrity was Lady Gaga with 141.147 tweets. She also won a statue for her role in the “American Horror Story: Hotel”. Second place was taken by Leonardo DiCaprio, who has collected 74.439 tweets. To boost, his film “The Revenant” was the overall winner of the evening, while the third place on the list of most-tweeted celebrities was Jennifer Lawrence with 66,906 tweets.
JON HAMM COLLECTS HIS LAST GOLDEN GLOBE FOR MAD MEN
Mad Men may be over, but there is still a couple of awards that the show and its star Jon Hamm can pick up. At the Golden Globe Awards, Hamm thus collected the statue for the best actor in a drama, and once again enriched his awards showcase for the role of Don Draper.
This is the second Golden Globe which Hamm won for this role. He took the first one home in 2008, for the first season of the show.
MCDONALD’S ADDS MORE COLOUR TO THEIR PACKAGING
McDonald’s CEO Steve Easterbrook wants the company to become more modern and progressive, and in this spirit their new packaging has been added a dash of colour. McDonald’s played with the font on their new packaging, which comes in a variety of colours, and they updated their iconic golden arches. This is the first global packaging change in the last three years, and was worked on by a big team of people from several countries.
TOYOTA’S PRIUS RETURNS TO THE SUPER BOWL
At this year’s Super Bowl, Toyota will advertise their new hybrid Prius, which already appeared once at the Big Game. The 60-second spot will be shown during the two-minute warning break in the first half, and will mark the launch of a larger campaign. Toyota has not released any details of the ad, except that it’s humorous, that it was filmed in Los Angeles and Chicago, and that it’s made by the agency Saatchi & Saatchi, Los Angeles.
