Truck company Scania has taken an unexpectedly artistic approach to marketing its new sustainably- sourced Griffin Collection, a clothing collection for drivers.
Swedish agency Uncle Unicorn brought together truck builder Sven-Erik “Svempa” Bergendahl and haute couture fashion designer Bea Szenfeld–who’s known for her love for upcycling as well as her creations for artists such as Lady Gaga and Björk–to create a haute couture collection based on truck parts.
The “Griffin Jacket” from the spot is made from 200 metres of reinforced Scania fan belts, meticulously cut into 800 griffin feathers, and then sewn together by hand with nearly 5000 stitches. The concept jacket is currently being auctioned off, and all the proceeds will go to benefit the international non-profit organization ActionAid.
