Part of the important content of the second edition of the Design District Zagreb festival, which will be held 13 to 18 June, is certainly the workshop of the Croatian Creative Europe Desk, which on 13 June will present some of the most interesting creative hubs in Europe.
The event is open to anyone interested in starting or collaboration with creative hubs and will be divided into two parts, while the official language of the festival is English. The first part, Creative Morning, will bring the presentation of European creative hubs: the Berlin Betahus, Madrid Factoria Cultural, the Stockholm Knackeriet, Ljubljana Poligon and Copenhagen Republikken. Within the theme of new business models in Europe, Creative Europe Desk will present the project Creative Lenses, which received co-funding from Creative Europe program.
The second part of the event called Creative Networking will consist of discussions in groups for a limited number of thirty participants who will be selected on the basis of filled applications. Participants of Creative Networking will be divided into three groups, which will rotate every half hour, to ensure everyone has the chance to directly meet and talk. In addition to representatives of the aforementioned European hubs, hosts of the event will be Kai Huotari, director of the largest cultural center in Finland, Kaapelija; Mateja Lazar, Head of the Creative Europe Desk in Slovenia; Barbara Stacher, representative of the Directorate-General for Education and Culture of the European Commission.
Festival Design District Zagreb will include the Green Program at Ratkajev prolaz, with exhibitions, installations and interventions in public space, guided tours of architectural sights of the neighborhood, workshops, discussions and round tables, a book fair and literary evenings. The project is realized in cooperation with the Zagreb Tourist Board and with the support of the City of Zagreb, Adris Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, as well as with sponsorship from the partners Hrvatska elektroprivreda, Toyota and Somersby.
