Christoph Mainusch, Co-CEO of Central European Media Enterprises and executive director and CEO of New Group will be the keynote speaker at the NEM 2016 in June.
Mainusch joined the CME two and a half years ago, when the company started strengthening its leading position in the region:
“It was clear that the turnaround will take more than a year. We focused on several points: maintaining the leading position among the audience in all territories, improving the results of advertising revenue, better management of the program, application of strict discipline in the costs sector, concentrating on our core business and the shaking of non-core operations, as well as the restructuring of the company to make it simpler and more efficient,” said Mainusch.
Mainusch has spent his entire career as an insider of the media industry, and believes that the television in the digital age has become stronger than ever:
“Increased competition and more channels are always a bigger challenge. Digital development still did not compromise the enjoyment of TV content. Quite the contrary. Television is stronger than ever. Digitization offers many new opportunities. The challenge was to realize and capitalize on this trend and make an offer of content available on all platforms. Advertising market clearly reacted to this change: We estimate that in our markets the share of total consumption of TV and online advertising has increased from 52% in 2006 to 71% in 2015.”
After an extremely successful third edition, NEM continues to grow and develop, so again this year it will provide participants extraordinary business opportunities. Members of management and administration of the world’s largest media companies will gather in Dubrovnik Palace Hotel, at the market that aims to promote the potential and opportunities offered by the region of Central and Eastern Europe. The complete TV industry will gather at NEM, from managers and board members of the television companies, operators from the region, production elite, to the leading analysis and tech companies, but also the screen stars themselves.
