The winner of the 7th ‘Plaktivat’ competition in designing a city poster centred on (ir)responsible consumerism and alternative modes of supply has been selected.
The panel of judges was persuaded by Nal Klemen, a 22 year-old student in his final year at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. His poster provides a fresh view of consumerism, which we have come to accept as self-evident. It expresses how all of us are trapped in an intricate labyrinth of consumerism and how we must do our best to find alternative routes and find our way out.
Material goods have become status symbols and we only rarely ask about the circumstances in which they were manufactured. Judging by the response, the topic is very current; furthermore the project went international for the first time; we received as many as 120 works from 10 different countries.
This time TAM-TAM organised the competition in collaboration with the Slovenian Environmentally Sustainable Society Umanotera and with the support of Slovenian photographer and traveler Arne Hodalič. The winning billboard poster will incite reflection at 500 TAM-TAM poster locations across Slovenia.
