Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (CMRS) has been declared Communicator of the Year by the jury of the 10th Grand PRix Awards of the Croatian Public Relations Association (HUOJ).
According to the jury, CMRS is demonstrating all the qualities of good communication – their communication is strategically sound and they implement use of effective channels to convey important messages to other stakeholders. They do so in understandable, clear and attractive manner. Their strategic approach to communication is innovative because they use all modern channels, and their appearance in the media has always been very professional and convincing.
CMRS has also followed the development of technology and has successfully applied modern communication solutions in their own communication. Commission for Information and Analytics of CMRS was among the first in the Croatian public space to recognize the power of social networks and build a unique communication style, thanks to which messages of CMRS are gladly shared even by those who are warm and safe.
“Croatian Mountain Rescue Service has proven to be not only an excellent communicator, but also a communications innovator. Since the beginning of its activities CMRS is characterized by great internal and external communication – with the victims and their families, professionals with whom they work in the rescue operations, the media and other stakeholders. They communicate about very serious issues such as safety and protection of life and warnings of appropriate behavior in nature in an interesting way – plain and simple, seasoned with a bit of good humor,” said Daria Mateljak, president of the Grand PRix Jury.
CMRS members communicate their serious and responsible job of saving human lives with heart and casualness, in original and authentic way.
“On behalf of the public relations profession and the HUOJ Grand PRix Jury, I congratulate the team of CMRS. Award Communicator of the Year is very well deserved – it’s in safe hands. We realize that these valuable heroes don’t want to see any of us in their field of work, but with their communication they have skillfully entered our homes and gained our attention. Their communication has raised awareness of safe and responsible behavior,” added Mateljak, underlining the great success of CMRS team, not only in communication sense.
CMRS, the first team ever nominated for Communicator of the Year, won the award in fierce competition. Other nominees were Zdravko Marić, Croatian Finance Minister, Boris Jokić, former head of the curricular reform, Marko Matijević, initiator of portal srednja.hr, and Bruno Šimleša, writer. Communicator of the Year is the recognition that HUOJ awards to persons or collectives whose quality and style of communication distinguished them in the past year, but who don’t come from the PR profession.
Grand PRix is an annual award of the Croatian Public Relations Association which celebrates excellence in the profession. This year 68 communications projects entered the competition in 12 categories. Finalists will be announced mid-February.
In addition, the jury awards recognition in three distinct categories: Communicator of the Year, Pomegranate of the Year, and the Grand PRix for Contribution to the Profession. Winner of the Pomegranate, ie. the person who stood out for poor communication in the past year, will be announced later this month, and the winner of the award for contribution to the profession will be announced at the award ceremony Grand PRix on 16 March in Zagreb.
