This Tuesday Zagreb’s Sheraton Hotel hosted the Cropak Awards for best works in the packaging design in Croatia. The award for the best packaging design in its entirety was awarded to Bruketa&Žinić&Grey for the design of Chiavalon’s olive oil packaging.
The Chiavalon family, one of the most award-winning producers of extra virgin olive oil in Croatia, wanted to communicate more closely the origin of its olive oils and the blend of tradition, contemporary technology and the art of its production. A special gift edition of Chiavalon olive oil packaging was inspired by traditional architecture and art in Istria, film, music and murals, combining historical and contemporary legacies.
“We are very pleased that, apart from the awards for the quality of our products, the professional public recognizes the effort we invest in their design. This award is the fruit of a long-time collaboration with Bruketa&Žinić&Grey, and as such is a celebration of the friendship that has lasted through all these years with people from the agency. I thank the entire team for knowing every time how to translate our vision into solutions that are recognized by the industry,” said Tedi Chiavalon on this occasion.
For Bruketa&Žinić&Grey this is the seventh Cropak prize, and the second one for cooperation with the Family Chiavalon from Vodnjan.
The Cropak Contest was designed with the aim of promoting and highlighting the benefits of packaging as an important means of protecting, promoting and identifying products, and has been organized by the Institute for Packaging and Printing Tectus for fifteen years now. The competition also seeks to emphasize the need for qualitative changes in attitudes toward visual identity of packaging, graphic and industrial designs, ecological properties of packaging and the overall contribution to environmental protection from the aspect of packaging and waste management.
