As part of promotion of the new Galaxy Note 8 in Ireland Samsung has turned the Dublin’s Samuel Beckett Bridge into a giant playable harp.
The harp inspired bridge, designed by architect Santiago Calatrava, was linked to a real harp played by Aisling Ennis, using an app that lit up bridge cables in as she played the real harp. The whole process is also visible on the Note 8 screen.
The stunt was devised by creative agency Guns or Knives, which worked with projection mapping expert Pauric Hackett of “Make and Share” on production.
Guns or Knives creative director Adam Crane commented in a statement: “As a recognizable Irish symbol, the Samuel Beckett Bridge has drawn attention from brands before, but we were determined to make the public see it in a completely new light.”
