Refugees have become a hot topic in Australia, and while debates are led about how to approach this issue, one former refugee from Yugoslavia, Blanka Dudas, started the campaign “I Came By Boat”, which aims to change the public perception of refugees.
The campaign conveys stories of those who came to Australia as refugees, and became successful and valued members of the society. Blanka says inspiration came from the “I am an Immigrant” campaign from UK, which also used posters with refugees and their stories.
Team standing behind the campaign wants to widen and strengthen it, for which they need money, so they turned to the crowdfunding site Chuffed to ask people for donations.
