The National Geographic has done a bit of a rewind of their website, all the way back to the 90s, giving visitors a chance to recall the early days of the internet, all with the aim to promote new drama ‘Valley of the Boom.’
‘Valley of the Boom’ is an upcoming docudrama produced by the National Geographic, which centres on the 1990’s tech boom and bust in Silicon Valley.
In advance of the series premiere on Sunday, the US National Geographic website went back to the 90s for a day (January 10), reminding visitors of the old aesthetics and the times of dial-up internet, with even some images refusing to load fully just to make the experience fully authentic.
‘Valley of the Boom’ is part of the Channel’s chief executive Paul Kafka’s vision to produce “fewer, bigger, bolder, more creatively ambitious shows.”
