The first pan-European campaign Keep Media Good, launched last November, has been shortlisted in Best Social Responsibility Spots category at PromaxBDA Europe Awards 2018. PromaxBDA Europe Awards 2018 is Europe’s top celebration of excellence in entertainment marketing and design.
RTV Slovenija is one of the participants in the marketing campaign Keep Media Good which was created in co-operation with the EBU – the European Broadcasting Union. The Keep Media Good campaign has been launched simultaneously in eight European countries last November: Ireland [RTÉ & TG4], France [France Televisions], Portugal [RTP], Italy [RAI], Spain [TVE], Slovenia [RTVSLO], Belgium [RTBF], Latvia [LT] and was subsequently adopted by Ukraine and Albania.
The complex campaign is a result of the initiative, demanding coordination, execution, and distribution of directors of communication from many public media services participating in the EBU – Voice of PSM working group and Red Bee agency. EBU – Voice of PSM working group aims to promote the significance of the work, values and influence of public media services.
In Keep media good campaign more than 30 individuals from ten countries presented their stories reflecting on how the public media service content changed the way they think, work or do. Each of the public services later on also added additional local stories to the campaign. RTV Slovenia added five of them by the end of last year and continued with additional new ones in 2018. The campaign aims to presenting the positive influence of public media services to young people (between 17 and 35) and the generation x (35 to 57 years). Video and audio content is covering six different themes, all uploaded on website podprimodobremedije.si and on websites that are in the remaining nine languages of the participating countries.
The campaign is foremost presented in all participating countries on social media. In Slovenia, it is presented on Facebook and Instagram pages of RTV Slovenia, Prvi program Radia Slovenija, Val 202, Tretji program – program ARS, Radio Koper and Radio Maribor, and Televizija Slovenija. The campaign was also expanded to print advertising, online advertising, with additional programme content on radio and television, national and regional programmes, and website www.rtvslo.si. By the end of 2017, the campaign reached more than 5 million people, with 1.8 million people watching videos. The EBU is preparing activities to continue the campaign with the second phase later this year.
The PromaxBDA Europe Awards honour the outstanding campaigns, spots and social media innovations from the past year that delivered audiences, turned viewers into fans, and built brands that connect with the public across the entire European continent. The PromaxBDA Europe Awards will be presented on March 13th, 2018 in Rome, Italy.
