The Institute of Marco Polo organizes this year’s international art festival “Marco Polo – Silk Road – The Path of Dialogue“, which will be held in Korčula from 23 to 30 August 2017 under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and Ministry of Tourism. The Festival promotes the culture of the countries of the Silk Road, including China, the Russian Federation, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, India, South Korea, Iran, Indonesia, Bulgaria and Croatia. The organizer’s wish is to spread understanding of the importance of the culture of dialogue and acceptance of diversity with the aim of educating, interacting and linking the countries of the Silk Road for their future intercultural cooperation.
This year’s rich festival program offers interesting film productions, music and artwork from artists from countries sharing a common Silk Road, and their selection was made by each of the participating countries of this festival through its embassy in Croatia. In addition to projection of feature films, a roundtable and panel discussion will be held by 10 ambassadors of the Silk Road countries in the Republic of Croatia on the topic: “Silk Road yesterday – road of piece today“, where experienced diplomats will articulate their own visions and approaches to the development of a global policy of achieving world peace and tolerance among peoples and cultures.
Agency Apriori World has taken over the making of the communication strategy for this cultural event for the period from 2018 to 2022.
