As the official representative for Serbia for “Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity”, B92 is organizing the national competition offering young and promising advertising professionals the opportunity to compete in the prestigious Young Lions competition at Cannes, in June this year.
Serbia’s Young Lions 2017 competition is open to young advertising professionals at the beginning of their careers. Entrants must work in Serbia, within the advertising industry, and be 30 years or younger (born on 24 June 1987 or after). Cannes Lions propositions demand from entrants some work experience so unfortunately the competition is closed for students.
Entrants receive a creative brief, prepared by partners of the competition, to which they must answer within 24 hours. Serbia is sending one representative, a team of two contestants, in the category of Print.
Important dates for 2017
15 February: Opening of registrations for the national Young Lions competition
9 March: Closing of registrations for the national Young Lions competition
11 March: Registered teams receive the brief
12 March: Deadline for submission of works for the Print category
18 March – 2 April: Jury assessment of the selected works
12 April: Final jury meeting
5 May: Announcement of the winners of the national Young Lions competition
17 June – 24 June: Cannes Lions Festival Week
Brief
Partner of the national competition will define the creative brief for the Print category.
Teams need to answer the brief in a following way: they have 24 hours to create a print ad in PDF format that is not bigger than 10MB.
All who wish to enter need to do so by 12:00h Thursday, 9 March 2017. Works by unregistered teams will not be taken into account.
Registered teams will receive the creative brief at 16:00h on Saturday, 11 March 2017. They need to submit their works no later than 16.00h on Sunday, 12 March 2017.
Judging criteria:
- Is there a “Big idea”?
- How innovative is the idea?
- Quality of the creative execution
- Difficulty within the given category
- How well was the message delivered
Reward?
B92 will send the winners of the Young Lions Serbia 2017 to Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, with included passes for the Young Lions festival, paid travel and accommodation expenses, and passes to seminars and award ceremony
Propositions in the Print category
- Team must consist of an art director and a copywriter
- Registered teams agree that the winning work may be used in the marketing campaigns of the partner of the national competition.
- Task is to create only one design
- Format: PDF, with a synopsis of up to 100 words within the form for submission
- Ad proposal in a file no larger than 10MB
- Proposals cannot contain the name, label or branding of an agency
- Proposals should be sent to young.lions@b92.net with clearly stated “YL Print rešenje formular za prijavu” in the subject line
