Broadcast of the last episode of the television series Startaj, Slovenia! has marked the end of one of the most important communications projects in Slovenia in the last twenty years. This, in many ways unique communications project in the region, has achieved and surpassed all the goals that the three partners of the project, Spar Slovenia, broadcaster Pro Plus and agencies Formitas and Direct Media, set in December 2015.
A story of will and energy
Project Startaj, Slovenia!, built on the idea of supporting young entrepreneurs, has showed to young people in Slovenia that success is possible if you have a good idea and a lot of will and energy. The project included and presented to the public 12 entrepreneurs and 12 products that were given their rightful place on the shelves in Interspar megamarket. Entrepreneurs and their stories were presented in a series on the leading commercial TV station in Slovenia – Pop TV. The project had strong communication on social networks, gaining incredible support of the citizens of Slovenia, so the sale of products exceeded even the most optimistic forecasts.
Spar support
At the end of the project the Hit product 2016 was selected with the help of consumers – natural deodorant cream Nelipot, which remains on the shelves of Interspar megamarket. Other young entrepreneurs, participants of the series, have also signed an exclusive one-year collaboration with Spar Slovenia, which for many of them represents a significant milestone in their business. Nine products will thus remain on the Startaj Slovenia! shelves. In addition to Nelipot, these are:
- 20 Chocolate, unique Slovenian chocolates, made in the traditional way “from bean to bar”,
- Le Potica, miniature half-baked strudel with three fillings,
- Knap brewery, whose light and dark craft beers pay homage to the tradition of the Slovenian miners,
- flavored salt Barba, a unique mixture of Slovenian salt and aromatic ingredients of local origin,
- Zulu Zion socks, a line of designer socks that impress with their colors and varied design,
- Less board game, an original strategic board game for all ages and occasions,
- Gorki Chili hot sauces, a family of fresh chili sauces with various degrees of zest, and
- Tattoo Care balm, made of carefully selected ingredients for treating tattoos and skin.
“I am sure that all entrepreneurs have a good chance of succeeding. With nine of them we will sign agreements on cooperation for the next year. Considering the results, the engagement of all involved, their will and commitment, for me, all of them are winners. Once again I congratulate them for everything they have achieved in these months,” said the general manager of Spar Slovenia Igor Mervič, stating that Spar Slovenia will continue to follow this story with optimism.
Project that combines all communication trends
The idea behind the project Startaj Slovenia! and implementation in terms of communication were the responsibility of the agency Direct Media Komunikacije from Slovenia, and partner creative agency Formitas.
“When brands tell us stories, when they are close to us and when we are part of them ourselves, we connect with them more easily. When brands are ready to do something for us and help us on the way to achieving our own goals, identification is even greater. Startaj Slovenia! is a project that is based on the concept of co-creation of brand value together with its customers, in order to increase the value of all the brands participating in the project, and through the high engagement of target consumers in the project,” said Mitja Tuškej, CEO of Direct Media Komunikacije from Ljubljana.
