COMPETITION COUNCIL OF BIH FINES AUDIENCE MEASUREMENT FOR UNLAWFUL BUSINESS
Competition Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 30 March, at the request of PINK BH, agency Fabrika, PPlus program, agency S.V.-RSA, Hayat TV and Direct Media, imposed a fine of 30,000 BAM (15,000 EUR), to the company Audience Measurement for illegal business. In the same decision, CEO of the company Damir Avdić was fined 5,000 BAM (2,500 EUR).
No appeal can be filed against this decision and the penalties must be paid within eight days from the date of issuing the decision.
Audience Measurement abused its position in the market of providing services of audience measurement by applying different conditions for different customers for the same or similar type of business, bringing them into an unequal position and causing competitive disadvantage.
In a 39-page explanation, Competition Council noted a number of irregularities regarding monopolistic behavior of Audience Measurement, which the above mentioned companies mentioned in their complaint: conditioning the signing of contracts on take it or leave it basis, unfounded changing of prices during the year, a ban on access to data in the past period for which clients paid audience research, blackmail with abolition of data to related persons if one of the clients cancels the contract, causing damage to business of applicants, and a number of other irregularities.

The Sunday Times reported on Sunday that they are in possession of documents proving how Dr. Mark Bonar was recorded saying that he gave banned erythropoietin (EPO) to a number of athletes, including some former and current football players of Chelsea, Leicester, Arsenal and Birmingham. World Anti-Doping Agency had earlier urged sponsors to sponsor the fight against doping.
