Public relations in Croatia are developing in accordance with global communications trends, and Croatian PR experts are characterized by high creativity. This is the conclusion of the tenth Grand PRix Awards of the Croatian Public Relations Association (HUOJ), which was held at the end of last week.
Grand PRix for the development of the profession was awarded to Mirela Španjol Marković, Director of the company Ciceron Komunikacije.
In order to promote good communication practices even among those for whom this is not their profession, HUOJ also gives the awards for Communicator and Anti-Communicator of the Year. As skilled communicators in the Croatian public space, HUOJ recognized Finance Minister Zdravko Marić, former leader of the curriculum reform Boris Jokić, initiator of the portal srednja.hr Marko Matijević and writer Bruno Šimleša, but the award Communicator of the Year went to the people who are not only excellent communicators, but also communication innovators – members of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service. On the other hand, poor public communication during the past year has earned the Rector of the University of Zagreb Damir Boras the Anti-Communicator of the Year award, and HUOJ has offered him free consultation of leading Croatian experts in the field of communication.
Jury of the jubilee Grand PRix this year had a lot of work, as they assigned 11 Grand PRix awards:
- Grand PRix for public relations in regional and local self-government went to Public institution in culture, Fortress of Culture Šibenik: “More than reality – first year of the revitalized Fortress Barone”.
- Grand PRix in NGO sector went to Communication Firm Colić, Laco & Partners for Hub385 and the project Launch and positioning of Hub385 innovation center.
- Grand PRix for PR in large trade companies went to Madison Consulting for Ikea Croatia: “Trial House Ikea”.
- Grand PRix for PR in SMEs went to Dialog komunikacije: “Diablog”.
- Grand PRix for corporate social responsibility went to Pragma Communications for Zagrebačka pivovara/Ožujsko beer: “Scratch for a reason – campaign for early detection of testicular cancer”. Pragma Communications also won the Grand PRix for internal communication, with the work for Zagrebačka pivovara on project Presentation of online system for independent entry of staffing data People Central.
- Grand PRix for the best adaptation of a global campaign went to Dialog komunikacije which for Mars Croatia adapted the campaign Orbit gives smiles.
- Grand PRix for political communication went to Campaign HQ of Anka Mrak – Taritaš: “Anka je Mrak, Za građane i građevine” (“Anka is Awesome, for citizens and construction”).
- Grand PRix for digital communication went to Nova TV for the coverage of the European Championship on the portal Gol.hr.
- Grand PRix for event organization went to Društvo Propela Zadar and their “10. DM Millennium Jump”.
- Grand PRix for communication strategy went to Hauska & Partner for Danfoss Hrvatska: “(Re)positioning of Danfoss Croatia”.
- Grand PRix for sponsorship communication went to Allianz Zagreb and Vetturelli for their project Be the Part that’s Missing.
The most successful agency of the year were Pragma komunikacije. This award is presented on the basis of the highest overall score of all agency’s projects entered for the Grand PRix awards.
