At the regular annual meeting of the UEPS Club of Laureates, held on Friday, March 9, 2018, members discussed the models of enhancing and innovating the award of the UEPS Life Achievement Award, traditionally awarded as the highest national recognition for the overall creative opus within market communications.
The meeting was attended by the previous winners of the highest national prize: Miša Lukić, Srđan Šaper, Srđan Bogosavljević, Vladimir Čeh, Prvoslav Plavšić, Nikola Vujanić, Tihomir Todorović, as well as President of UEPS Viktor Nikolić, and General Secretary Stana Šehalić.
Laureates initiated the amendments to the Rulebook of this award, which will be adjusted according to the submitted suggestions. The basic idea of innovation is to preserve and raise the value of this recognition.
Srđan Šaper pointed out that the document should specify who proposes and who judges, as well as that the criteria for the award should be more explicitly defined.
Miša Lukić suggested that the circle of proposers be extended to all those who are professionally engaged in market communications, and that members of the Club of Laureates should consider all the proposals and make the final decision, which all the participants agreed with. Thus, the Club of Laureates has transferred part of their previous responsibilities to the wider basis, with the belief that this will be a certain kind of privilege and recognition, as well as responsibility, for those who will propose candidates.
The members of the Club of Laureates agreed that the Lifetime Achievement Award should be awarded every second (odd) year, so the next new member of the Club will be selected in 2019, with the deadline for submitting the proposals will be 31 December 2018.
The members of the Club of Laureates supported the efforts of UEPS to connect, network and merge everyone working in the creative industry.
