Communication has a more powerful effect on the society than ever before, and therefore it should be strategically involved in everything – from the non-governmental sector, through economy, to the state authorities. This was the conclusion of communication experts gathered at the Grand PRix Showcase, organized by the Croatian Public Relations Association – HUOJ.
“The best Croatian communication practice was presented at the Showcase. This event testifies the immense power of public relations. At the Showcase, we had the chance to see how good communication can improve a demanding project funded by the EU, how it can change public perception from negative to positive, how it successfully encourages citizens, from young to old, to acquire new knowledge and accept new habits, how it builds a brand new image for a company. We saw why internal communication and new ways to talk to employees are important, how much publicity contributes to corporate social responsibility, how much PR contributes to winning the elections, and how to be creative in organizing events and using new technologies. The conclusion is that good communication is now essential for every good job,” said Krešimir Macan, president of HUOJ’s 11th Grand PRix Jury.
Thirty-one projects shortlisted in ten categories were presented. Most shortlisted projects came from the company INA, and agencies 404 and Dialog komunikacije.
“Some companies and associations manage their communications independently, and some of the projects are made in cooperation with PR agencies. Their common threads are creativity, innovation and excellence in communication – from shaping the strategy, to its implementation,” said Maja Gradišar Perotić, vice president of the 11th Grand PRix jury.
In addition to presenting top-level public communication, the finalist Showcase is also an opportunity for jury members to ask additional questions to project makers. After that, they finalize their scoring for the Grand PRix Award. Winners will be announced at the Grand PRix gala ceremony at the Westin Hotel in Zagreb on Friday, 16 March, starting at 19.30hrs.
At the ceremony, we will also find out who will receive the Grand PRix for contribution to the profession, and invitations to the event will also be sent to the Communicator of the Year Ante Mrvica, and Anti-communicator of the Year Vlado Košić.
