MUSEUM OF FORGOTTEN SOUNDS
There are countless kinds of museums in the world, from the classic ones where you can look at paintings, sculptures and installations, to those more unusual. But there’s a new online “museum”, dedicated to preserving sounds.
Old artefacts and technologies are already in some museums, but what no one has ever been able to preserve so far is sound. The online archive called Conserve the Sound is trying to gather all those sounds that may not exist in the future, and to preserve them from oblivion. The makers of this site say that today everything is focused on visual, and we are accustomed to it, but they want to include the audio component in what is worthy of memory.
At the site you can find a fair number of photos, with attached sounds. These are mostly sounds associated with technology, but that spectrum is wider than one can imagine. In addition to the first consoles and prototype laptops, there are polaroid cameras, printers, even shavers. As far as some sounds are concerned, it depends on the age of users how familiar they will sound, but the goal is to let nothing be lost to time, and to serve as the archive for future generations, as a witness to some past times.

MCDONALD’S REMOVING ADDITIVES FROM THEIR BURGERS: ‘THEY WILL STILL KEEP OUR RECOGNIZABLE TASTE’
For some time now, the global fast food chain has been trying to attract consumers who are concerned about healthy eating, so the decision to remove additives from their seven classic burgers, including burgers, cheeseburgers, double cheeseburgers and Big Macs, was not a big surprise.
According to the company, the change relates to every part of burgers, from buns to cheese and sauces. This applies in particular to the special Big Mac sauce from which three additives will be removed, “without sacrificing the recognizable taste”.
“This decision demonstrates our commitment to consumer relationships, and the desire to build better McDonald’s,” said the head of McDonald’s for the US market, Chris Kempczinski.
