David Droga, Greg Hahn, and Susan Credle are just three of the iconic creatives who have no chance of being on the Epica Awards jury, explains the new campaign for submissions to the EPICA awards.
The campaign, conceived by BETC creatives Abi Stephenson, Matt Jones, and Anthony Tavares, creatively led by Nicholas Bakshi, humorously targets prominent names in the communications industry to emphasize that the Epica Awards are judged by journalists – not creatives. Epica has just opened submissions for the year 2024.
BETC team: “Epica is one of the most prestigious award competitions in our industry, and its impartiality, as a true distinguishing factor, made creating a campaign that celebrates the uniqueness of these awards a real pleasure.”

Epica Awards editor Mark Tungate said: “Based in France, BETC has always been a significant agency for us. We were thrilled to work with them. Abi, Matt, Anthony, and Nick have a great mischievous spirit, and their campaign is elegant, engaging, and witty.”
He added that Epica often receives calls from creatives who would like to be on its jury. But the jury consists of editors and journalists from leading advertising magazines worldwide, as well as specialized publications in categories such as automotive, luxury, and visual effects. This allows it to remain objective and free from industry politics.
Early Bird submissions for the Epica Awards are open until September 1, with a 200 euro discount.
Regular submissions are accepted from September 2nd to October 11th.
